Oelrich Construction Participates in the UF and COG Mentor-Protégé Programs

This year, we’re honored to continue our involvement as mentors within the City of Gainesville and University of Florida Mentor Protégé Programs. Reflecting on the incredible mentorship experiences from last year, we had the privilege of engaging in multiple enriching sessions, offering dedicated support, and equipping our mentees with essential tools for success.

Over the summer, we hosted a special Mentor Day, providing our mentees with an immersive experience and a unique opportunity to explore industry insights firsthand. In January, we were thrilled to see one of our mentees receive a well-deserved award at the City of Gainesville Mentor Program graduation ceremony.

We celebrate the accomplishments of our mentees and value the role we’ve played in their journey to success. Grateful for the chance to uplift and contribute to the professional growth of others within our community, we eagerly anticipate the meaningful connections and milestones that lie ahead. Together, let’s continue to inspire and empower one another in our shared pursuit of excellence.

About the UF Mentor-Protégé Program

The objective of the University of Florida’s Mentor Protégé Program is to encourage contractors engaged with UF to assume mentoring roles by cultivating relationships with smaller contracting businesses. This initiative is driven by the desire to promote and elevate the involvement of small businesses, supporting them in achieving their goals and contributing to the establishment of a more resilient supplier base. The ultimate aim is to provide ample opportunities for the growth of smaller businesses.

About the City of Gainesville Mentor Protégé Program

The City of Gainesville Mentor Protégé program is a year-long program that pairs businesses that are starting out with established businesses.  The goal of the program is to create a strong network of local businesses that are qualified and equipped to do work with the City of Gainesville. The pairings are made according to industry and interest. Throughout the program, the city facilitates structured sessions to foster discussions, ensuring a meaningful exchange between protégés and mentors.
